Two promising young basketball players from Anguilla, Cameron Gumbs and J’Quan Samuels, have secured athletic scholarships to attend Menaul School in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the 2024/2025 academic year. This exciting opportunity emerged from the recently concluded Reach One Teach One-Building Bridges to Success summer basketball camp held on the Caribbean Island.
The inaugural camp, organized by the Top Hill Basketball Club in collaboration with the UK-based Reach One Teach One organization, has already begun to yield positive results for Anguilla’s young athletes. Gumbs and Samuels were identified as standout performers during the week-long event by Head Coach Najmuddin Ahmad.
Evette Harrigan, President of Top Hill Basketball Club, expressed her enthusiasm: “This opportunity marks a significant milestone in the growth and development of basketball on our island. We are immensely proud of Cameron and J’Quan’s achievements”.
