FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 1, 2025

St. Kitts & Nevis national goalkeeper Kai Trotman has officially committed to play for the Bethany College Swedes Soccer Program in Lindsborg, Kansas, starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Trotman, who has received a full soccer scholarship, will begin his first semester at Bethany College in August 2025.
The young goalkeeper’s journey to this milestone began at the 2024 Security Forces United Football Club Crime Intervention Summer Soccer Camp, where he was scouted by Beresford Mack of the Reach One Teach One Building Bridges to Success program and Richard Allicock of Thurlife. Both Mack and Allicock played pivotal roles in connecting Trotman with U.S.-based Coach Nicholas Goddard, who facilitated the scholarship opportunity.
Trotman currently serves as the second-choice goalkeeper for the St. Kitts & Nevis national football team and has represented his country in multiple regional CONCACAF tournaments. At the club level, he plays for Cayon Football Club in the premier division of the St. Kitts & Nevis local league. Kai Trotman expressed his excitement about this new chapter “I am truly grateful for this opportunity to further my education and football career at Bethany College. It’s a dream come true, and I look forward to the challenges and experiences that lie ahead.”
Coach Nicholas Goddard also shared his thoughts on Trotman’s potential “Kai brings a level of dedication and skill that will undoubtedly enhance the team. They are excited to welcome him to the Swedes Soccer Program and look forward to seeing him grow both as a player and a student.
Beresford Mack and Richard Allicock echoed their pride in Trotman’s achievement. Mack stated “Kai’s dedication and talent have been evident from day one. It’s inspiring to see him take this step toward fulfilling his potential both on and off the field. We are confident he will excel at Bethany College.”
Allicock added “This is a proud moment not just for Kai but for all of us who believe in empowering young athletes through opportunities like this. His success is a testament
to what can be achieved with hard work and the right support.”
Bethany College, a liberal arts institution with a rich history dating back to 1881, competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) as part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Swedes Soccer Program is known for its commitment to developing student-athletes both academically and athletically.
Kai Trotman’s signing marks a significant achievement for both the player and his supporters, showcasing how community- driven initiatives can pave the way for international opportunities. The entire St. Kitts & Nevis football community wishes him success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter.
